Student Welfare & Support

We have a dedicated, friendly team of international staff ready to help you settle into your studies at NZIST and life in Auckland. From organising an Auckland Transport HOP card to getting you settled with a homestay family, we are always happy to help.

If you are arriving from overseas, we can easily organise a homestay for you. Once you have received your visa and booked your flights, please email us at and we will make all the necessary arrangements. A $200 homestay placement fee applies. 

If you are over 18 and wish to move out of your homestay and live independently, you must give your homestay family at least two weeks' notice of your intention to do so.

The Code sets standards for education providers to ensure that:

  • High professional standards are maintained.

  • The recruitment of international students is undertaken in an ethical and responsible manner.

  • Information supplied to international students is comprehensive, accurate, and up‐to‐date.

  • Students are provided with information prior to entering into any commitments.

  • Contractual dealings with international students are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.

  • The particular needs of international students are recognised.

  • International students are in safe accommodation.

  • All providers have fair and equitable internal procedures for the resolution of international student grievances.
